My Story
My name is Cherie Overton. I have been married to my best friend, Shawn, for 42 years. We were blessed with two sons, Blake and Brodie. The boys in turn have blessed us with our two daughters (in-law). They have added the sweetest part yet to the mix...our grand babies...7 of them!!! I have my Masters in education and teach Special Ed. If I refer to “my kids” you may want to ask if I mean my bio’s or my students 😉. My hubby and I love to travel, hike, go to concerts, and most of all, spend time with the little people who refer to us as Grammy and Boppa. So you see, I didn't join the Scentsy company becase I needed something to do...oh, there is PLENTY of that; however, let me tell you how I did become a consultant. I was hosting a family barbeque when my father in law commented on my warmers and scents and asked me if I could get them some. When I went on line to decide which ones would fit in with their decor I came across a beautiful Autism Awareness Scentsy warmer. It was decorated with the "pieces of the puzzle" that anyone who has an interest in autism is familiar with. I thought, "how cool that a company would assist in fund raising for such an overwhelmimg cause." Then I remembered the very successful Scentsy fundraiser that my niece had just hosted to raise funds for the Relay for Life, another cause that is near and dear to my family. For a brief moment I pondered becoming more involved with this company. I tried to think of one good reason why I shouldn't become a Scentsy consultant....guess what? I couldn't think of a one. My family loves Scentsy, my friends love Scentsy, and of course, I DO. That was over 11 years ago. In those years I moved from Iowa to Wisconsin...and back to Iowa again, won trips including Hawaii, NYC, Punta Cana, Cozumel, a Cruise to Spain, Italy, and France, and most recently A cruise to Alaska. I’ve made tons of friends, earned a very nice extra income, and written checks to causes that I woud have not been able to otherwise afford. I have become a leader to a wonderful and constantly expanding Scentsy team. I try to always lead by example and would love to have YOU on my team.
